Our Kailey even has those markings on the under arms close to the joint.

Wow! I noticed this too, but I don't think it's as new as previously thought...
My Addy (purchased in 2001) has this mark
and Kaya (Purchased in 2002) also has this mark.
Felicity (purchased in 1998) and Kirsten (purchased in 2000) do NOT have this mark..

Sam and Nellie both have the star. I got them at AGPNY in July. No one else has the mark.

None of my dolls have the mark. Not even Nellie. Maybe this is a mold mark from certain factories? That could explain its lack of consistency.
